Mark Burnett - Visionary Award
CEO United Artists Media Group - Mark Burnett, Chief Executive Officer of the United Artists Media Group (an MGM company), is a six-time Emmy Award winner. Burnett has produced more than 2,900 hours of television programming, which regularly airs in more than 70 countries worldwide. The company Burnett leads, United Artist Media Group (UAMG), currently has twelve network TV shows airing or in production, including "Survivor" (CBS), "The Voice" (NBC), "Shark Tank" (ABC), "Beyond the Tank" (ABC) and “A.D. The Bible Continues (NBC), “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader (FOX), and 500 Questions (ABC). Burnett is one of very few producers to have had a renewed series on each of the four major networks and to have multiple series win their time slots on five nights of television in the same week.
Additionally, Burnett and his wife Roma Downey have produced (under UAMG’s LightWorkers Media banner) the 10-hour miniseries "The Bible" that premiered on History Channel in March 2013 and was watched by over 100 million people in the US alone, the 2014 feature film “Son of God” (20th Century Fox). The couple also produced ‘A.D. The Bible Continues’ currently airing Sunday nights on NBC. Their new upcoming series for TLC "Answered Prayers” will premiere on July 26th. The couple is producing the epic feature film Ben-Hur, a reimagining of the classic story with MGM and Paramount, set to release Spring 2016. Mark's television profile includes a strong presence in award show franchises, having produced the "MTV Movie Awards" from 2007 to 2011, the "Video Game Awards" and the 2011 "Primetime Emmy Awards." Burnett and UAMG are set to produce the 2015 "People's Choice Awards", which Burnett has produced since 2010.
Hollywood Reporter recently named Mark, #1 on their Reality TV Power List – 30 Most Powerful Sellers of 2015. TIME Magazine named Mr. Burnett one of the world's most influential people. He has won BRANDWEEK'S Marketer of the Year Award, The Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award, the PGA Norman Lear Award and the prestigious ROSE D'OR FRAPA Format Award. Burnett was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 2010 and was honored with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. He served two elected terms on the Board of Directors for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Los Angeles. Burnett became CEO of United Artists Media Group in 2014.
Roma Downey - Visionary Award
A celebrated, Emmy® nominated actress and producer Roma Downey is best known for her nine seasons as the tender-hearted angel on the hit CBS television show "Touched by an Angel" for which Ms. Downey earned multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe® best actress nominations.
Born in Ireland and classically trained in London, Ms. Downey has performed on stage with the famed Abbey Theatre Company and has appeared both on and off Broadway. She played the leading role of Jackie Kennedy Onassis in the Emmy® award winning six hour miniseries for NBC ‘A Woman Named Jackie.’ Ms. Downey not only starred in, but executive produced seven television movies for The CBS network, among them ‘Borrowed Hearts’ with Eric McCormack and ‘Second Honeymoon’ with Tim Matheson.
As President of LightWorkers Media, a United Artists Media Group banner, Downey together with her husband Mark Burnett produced the Emmy® nominated mini series, 'The Bible' for History Channel which was watched by over 100 million people in the US alone. ‘The Bible’ became the fastest selling DVD in the last 5 years. Downey and Burnett have also produced ‘Son of God’ a feature film that stunned the box office as the 2nd highest faith movie opening of all time. The Hollywood trade publication Variety recognized Downey and Burnett as "Trailblazers" and listed Downey as Variety’s ‘100 Most Powerful Women in Hollywood.’ The Hollywood Reporter included the couple in their ‘Most Influential People of 2013’ Downey won the 2014 ‘Movie Guide Grace Award’ for her role as Mother Mary.
Downey was also honored on Variety’s Women of Impact in 2014. Together, Downey and Burnett have recently produced The Women of the Bible for LIFETIME, ‘The Dovekeepers’ for CBS and ‘A.D.
